Joydeep Mukherjee is a sarod player born in West Bengal. He learnt the sarod under Sangeetacharya Pranab Kumar Naha, a notable disciple of the late Pt. Radhika Mohan Maitra. He also plays the rare Radhika Mohan Veena, designed and invented by his dadaguru, Pt. Radhika Mohan Maitra, and is taking taalim in lay karis and bol banis from the tabla exponent Pt. Debashish Sarkar. He gave his debut performance at the age of six and continues to perform in India and abroad. Alongside reviving rare and extinct musical instruments of India, he is a keen composer and has so far composed more than 20 classical instrumental bandishes based on Tagore's songs.
