Pt. Krishna Bhandari is a flautist and a senior disciple of the flautist and music composer Pt. Raghunath Seth, himself a disciple of the late Pt. Pannalal Ghosh. Fascinated as a child by a live concert of the flautist Pt. Devendra Murdeshwar, he took up the flute. He was initiated into the art, technique and aesthetics of flute playing by his father, Shri V. N. Bhandari. He then learnt from the flautist Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi and the vocalists Pt. Appasaheb Deshpande (Nutan Gandharva) and Pt. Yeshwant Kshirsagar, before coming under the influence of Pt. Raghunath Seth, whose ganda-bandh disciple he has been since 1990. His style blends fluency and melody with a systematic badhat and an aesthetic approach, giving due weight to both gayaki and gatkari. He has performed at music conferences and festivals in India and abroad. He holds a master's degree in music (Sangeet Alankar), has been a regular performing artiste of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan since 1990, and has been an approved senior panel artiste of the ICCR since 2004. Alongside music, he holds senior managerial responsibilities in a renowned organisation, and has been a Rotarian since 1989.
