Pt. Vinayakrao Kale
Vivek Datar is a harmonium player who learnt from his guru, Pt. Vinayakrao Kale, a vocalist of the Gwalior Gharana. Influenced by Veena Sahasrabuddhe, he became interested in tuning theory and its application, and with the Hinge brothers created the changeable reed harmonium, now used by many leading harmonium players. He is an active teacher and performer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
