Aparna Gurav is a Hindustani classical vocalist trained in the guru-shishya parampara. Inspired by her parents, she began learning at the age of ten under Dr. Sudha Patwardhan, with whom she studied the fundamentals of classical music for fifteen years, culminating in the degree of Sangeet Alankar from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Her talent was further honed by Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe, who taught her the subtle art of communicating with an audience through music and instilled confidence in her. Aparna has accompanied her guru on various occasions. Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, an exponent of the Gwalior gharana, has also guided her on its various aspects and taught her the finer nuances of music.
