Bhagyesh Marathe is a Hindustani classical vocalist and the grandson of the vocalist Pt. Ram Marathe. He began learning tabla at the age of four and continued for almost 15 years with gurus including Shri Prabhu Ghate, his uncle Shri Mukund Marathe, Pt. Mukundraj Deo and Shri Gajanan Raul, a disciple of Ustad Allarkha Khan Sahib. He completed his bachelor's degree in information technology at K.C. College, Mumbai. At 19, on his father's advice, he began listening to his grandfather's renditions and other Indian classical vocal music. Deeply influenced by the gayaki of Kumarji and of his grandfather, he decided to make singing his profession. He began learning under his father, Pt. Sanjay Marathe, and is currently training at the Dr. Gangubai Hangal Gurukul in Hubli under Pt. Kedar Bodas.
