Dhruv Bedi is a sitarist of the Imdadkhani gharana. Born on 16 September 1990 into a family of musicians, he began learning sitar at the age of four from his father, Shri Jagdeep Singh Bedi, a sitar and surbahar artiste. He is now training under Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee in the traditional guru-shishya parampara. Dhruv plays the gayaki ang (vocal style) on the sitar, and his approach to rhythm and sur is intuitive and spontaneous. He has performed since the age of six and has collaborated with Carnatic, jazz, Korean, Scottish and Russian musicians and other genres in India and abroad, in countries including the U.S.A., U.K., Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Russia, Mauritius and South Korea. He is an 'A' grade artiste of All India Radio (AIR), performs regularly on AIR, has had his recordings broadcast regularly and has given a National Programme.
