Vid. Manjusha Patil Kulkarni, born in Sangli (Maharashtra), is a vocalist who began her training under Pt. Chintubuva Mhaiskar. She earned a Sangeet Visharad from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, Miraj, and a master's degree in music with a gold medal from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. A consistent winner of music competitions, she was noticed at one of them by Sangeetacharya Pt. D. V. Kanebua of Ichalkaranji, a turning point in her career. Training with him in the gurukul tradition, she absorbed the aesthetic nuances of the Agra and Gwalior gharanas. She received further training from Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, and is currently honing her skills under Gantapasvi Padma Shri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar. Her performances are marked by purity in raga exposition, sustained swaras, complex taans rendered with speed and quality, command of rhythm, and proficiency in semi-classical forms such as thumari, dadara and abhang. Under the Sangeetacharya D.V. Kanebuva Pratishthan, she has established a gurukul in Sangali where students learn in close proximity to the guru. She has given national and international concerts, holds a Top Grade in classical music from All India Radio, and has received awards including the Ustad Bismillah Khan award from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the Pt. Kumar Gandharva Rashtriya Puraskar from the Madhya Pradesh Govt. and the Pt. Basavraj Rajguru Yuva Puraskar from the Karnataka Govt.
