Pallavi Joshi is a Hindustani classical vocalist who represents the fifth generation of her family's musical heritage. Her training began at the age of five under her grandfather, Pt. Gajananbuva Joshi, whose gayaki blended the Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas. She later received rigorous training in the guru-shishya parampara under her uncle, Pt. Madhukarrao Joshi, a vocalist and violinist, for more than 25 years. She has also received guidance from her aunt, Dr. Sucheta Bidkar, and her father, Shri Manohar Joshi, and is seeking guidance from Pt. Arun Kashalkar. She has been awarded the Government of India National Scholarship for young artistes in Hindustani classical vocal music. Her album Rising Stars was released in 2010, and Madhumalati Part 2, comprising compositions in 25 ragas, was released in October 2012. She has given many solo concerts, as well as sahagayan concerts with her elder sister, Smt. Apoorva Gokhale, at music conferences in India. She is a graduate in Biotechnology and holds a master's degree in Management Studies.
