Rachna Bodas is a Hindustani classical vocalist whose style and approach to raga are strongly shaped by her guru, the late Vid. Veena Sahasrabuddhe of the Gwalior gharana. She grew up in a musical home; her father, Shri Ravi Shankar Shukla, was a tabla player in Kanpur. She began her training in 1992 under the late Pt. Kashinath Shankar Bodas, who taught her the basics of gayaki and bhajans, and went on to learn the depth of khayal gayaki and the art of performance from Vid. Sahasrabuddhe. She has completed the Sangeet Visharad from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal and holds an academic degree in music and English. Besides performing, she teaches students of music.
