Ramakant Gaikwad is a young vocalist in Indian classical music, associated with the 'Patiyala' style or gharana. He began lessons at the age of four from his father, Shri Suryakant Gaikwad, who holds the 'Sangeet Alankar', and his mother, Smt. Sangita Gaikwad, who holds the 'Sangeet Visharad'. He learned at the music institute 'Hari Om Sangeet Kala Mancha', run by his father, and began performing on stage at the age of six. His natural talent and musical sense have earned appreciation from listeners and connoisseurs alike, and his sonorous voice and mature rendering of ragas belie his age of 20 years at the time of writing.
