Seema Shirodkar is a harmonium player known for accompaniment that brings creative input and imagination while matching the speed and dexterity of the vocalist. She began learning the harmonium at a very early age, first under Shri Umesh Insulkar and then, for several years, under Pt. Tulsidas Borkar, who groomed her as an accompanist. She also benefited from her association with the late Shri Vishwanath Pendharkar, a teacher and performer who taught her the subtle nuances of solo performance. She is a graduate of S.N.D.T. University. Seema has travelled extensively in India, the USA, Canada, Europe and the Middle East, performing solo and accompanying vocalists such as the late Pt. C. R. Vyas, Padma Vibhushan Smt. Kishori Amonkar, Smt. Padma Talwalkar, Arati Anklikar-Tikekar, Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, Shubha Mudgal, Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Shruti Sadolikar, Rashid Khan, Pt. Rajan & Sajan Mishra, Pt. Prabhakar Karekar and Sanjeev Abhyankar. Like her husband Vishwanath, she performs and also grooms young artistes on the harmonium.
