Tulika Ghosh is a Hindustani vocalist and the daughter of tabla player Padma Bhushan Pt. Nikhil Ghosh, representing the fourth generation of a family of musicians. Her elder uncle was Pannalal Ghosh, revered as the 'Father of Hindustani Classical Flute'. She grew up in the company of figures such as Ustad Ahmedjan Thirakawa, Ustad Amir Khan, Ustad Vilayat Khan and Pt. Nikhil Banerjee. Tulika learnt from her father, who was also known for his knowledge of vocal music. She received exclusive training in Tappa from Pt. Hanuman Prasad Mishra of the Banaras tradition. Her other gurus were Padma Bhushan Ustad Khadim Hussain Khan of the Agra-Atrauli Gharana, Padma Bhushan Gurudev Jnan Prakash Ghosh, and Ustad Yunus Hussain Khan, the Khalifa of the Agra Gharana. She has a weighty voice and a wide repertoire spanning Khayal, Tarana, Tappa, Thumri, Dadra, Kajri and Bhajan. Her singing draws on elements of the Agra, Gwalior, Saheswan, Kirana, Patiala and Banaras traditions, presented with her own expression.
